Looking to upgrade your outdoor gear and do something great for the planet? Wild Rock Outfitters in downtown Peterborough just launched something exciting: Wild Again, a new trade-in and resale program that breathes new life into used gear, while also giving back to the community.
Housed in the basement of their iconic Charlotte Street location, Wild Again is now open for in-store drop-offs and shopping. Whether you’re a weekend hiker, an everyday cyclist, or just clearing out your gear closet, this program is a win-win for outdoor lovers and the environment alike.

How it works:
- Drop off your clean, lightly used outdoor gear—no appointment needed.
- Receive instant store credit (usually 10–25% of the original value) to spend on new or used gear.
- Or, if you’re feeling generous, donate your credit to The ComPassion Project, Wild Rock’s initiative supporting local social justice and environmental causes.
Once you’ve traded in your gear, you can browse a curated selection of quality pre-loved items in-store. Everything’s been inspected by the Wild Rock team and is ready for your next adventure.
“This isn’t just about gear—it’s about building a circular economy that benefits our community and our planet,” says Rob Arkell, lead director of Wild Again. “By keeping high-quality equipment in use, we reduce waste, support access to outdoor experiences, and empower affordable adventures.”
And it doesn’t stop there—Phase Two of the Wild Again program will roll out this summer with a national online resale platform, expanding access to great gear and sustainable shopping across Canada.
