Summer Soul Yoga & Wellness Studio in partnership with the Peterborough DBIA will be hosting FREE community yoga sessions downtown every Saturday this August from 10AM – 11AM.
These sessions will take place at the Venture North lot – at 270 George Street North, just south of the building.

The sessions will alternate between a Stretch & Soul Yoga class (August 3 & 17) a session which is great for all levels and abilities – helping you to feel calm, centred and connected. The stretch class is good for stress reduction, mental clarity, relaxation and flexibility. Alternating with these sessions, on the Saturdays of August 10 & 24 will be “The Blend” which is a combination class blending yoga and pilates. The Blend classes are good for creativity, energy boosts, toning and mindfulness – and focuses on targeting core strength, posture improvement, stress release & flexibility.

Each class will be followed by a BIA vendors market! Some downtown businesses will be setting up booths for some post-class shopping and refreshments.

These classes are free for the community – but donations to the One City Unity Project are welcomed for those looking to give back.
The Unity Project is run by One City Peterborough, and comprises of a dedicated team of three outreach workers who offer a diverse set of support services to businesses and individuals in the downtown area. Their regular activities include intervening and de-escalating crisis situations, directing individuals to appropriate support resources, facilitating dialogue between business owners and community members, cleaning up sharps and drug-use equipment, and providing overdose response and naloxone training to businesses.
